Salary range: $64,300 - $66,000

Location: Gresham, OR

Schedule: Full-time, salaried exempt; primarily in-office with the option for some hybrid work after 90 days

Overview
Our mission driven client is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This role provides support across a wide range of accounting functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, payroll and cost allocation, audit preparation, and other assignments. As part of a five-person accounting department, this position will also play a role in process improvements, financial reporting, and grant-related invoicing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet items
  • Assist with allocating payroll and shared costs
  • Prepare and post journal entries to support monthly close
  • Compile schedules and supporting documentation for audits and compliance reviews
  • Serve as backup for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll
  • Assist with invoicing and reporting for grant-funded programs
  • Manage accounting activity across multiple funding sources and office locations
  • Recommend enhancements to processes and systems to improve efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or 2-3 years of equivalent work experience
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy
  • Nonprofit or fund accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish highly preferred)
  • Familiarity with MIP/Abila, ServicePoint, or Microix
  • Five years of progressive accounting experience
  • Interest in driving process improvements and professional growth
